The Essex County Prosecutor's Office are investigating a shooting that left a man injured on a street in East Orange overnight.
According to a preliminary investigation, police responded to reports of shots fired that rang out in the vicinity of North 19th Street and Eaton Place before 8:30 p.m.
Upon officer's arrival, they found the victim suffering severe injuries after being struck by bullets according to authorities.
The Essex County Prosecutor's Office has confirmed that the shooting resulted in a homicide investigation for a male victim with no arrests reported.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
