An early morning shooting that killed a man in Newark's South Ward has detectives from the Essex County Prosecutor's Office searching for a killer.
According to authorities, reports of shots fired that rang out in 400 block of Hawthorne Avenue placed police on the scene shortly before 12:30 a.m. where a search of the area had officers find **Mr. Farad Green 39, of Newark,** unconscious and unresponsive at that location.
Medics reportedly pronounced Green dead inside an eatery shortly after the shooting.
Authorities said there are no arrests and the motive for the shooting has yet to be determined.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
