UPDATE: Four Men Shot Dead, Three Injured in Paterson Shooting

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Ibrahim Baycora announce that at approximately 11:04 p.m. members of the Paterson Police Department responded to the area of Carroll Street and Governor Street in Paterson upon hearing gunfire.

Upon arrival, responding officers discovered seven men who had sustained gunshot wounds.

Officials said the victims were transported to Saint Joseph’s Regional Medical Center for treatment.

Police said a 24-year-old male from Paterson was treated and released, and a 20-year-old male from Paterson and a 19-year-old male from Paterson were admitted and are in stable condition.

Mr. Al Malik Williams, 37, Mr. Otis Smith, 37, Mr. Unique Jones, 22, and Mr. Nygier Barrett, 25, all from Paterson, all succumbed to their wounds and died at the hospital.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
