UPDATE: Florence Township Man Killed in I-295 Crash

NJ State Police officials are investigating the cause of a crash that killed a man and injured one other on a highway in Burlington County Sunday morning. 

According to NJ State Police Sergeant Alejandro Goez, the crash was reported at 3:27 a.m. in the northbound lanes of I-295 at milepost 46.6 in Burlington.

Sergeant  Goez said a preliminary investigation indicated that a Freightliner M2 was traveling north in the right lane, and a Chevrolet Equinox was traveling behind the M2.

The investigation revealed that in the area of  46.6, the Equinox struck the rear of the M2.

According to Sergeant Goez, the driver of the Equinox, Mr. Stanley Altidor, 31, of Florence Township, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Virtua Mount Holly Hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.

The passenger, a 27-year-old female from Hampton, VA, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Cooper Trauma Center.

Sergeant Goez said the driver of the M2, a 59-year-old male from Gloucester City, NJ, did not sustain any injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
