A foot pursuit of five suspects wanted for allegedly attempting to push their way into a home in Long Hill had officers apprehend five suspects and a potential look-out person early Thursday morning.
According to a preliminary statement released by Long Hill Police officials, the incident happened at approximately 4:04 am when a resident of Birchwood Drive in Millington was alerted by her ring doorbell by someone attempting to open her front door.
Officials say police were called and upon their arrival, officers discovered a stolen motor vehicle out of Jersey City on Birchwood Drive.
According to officials shortly after arriving at the Birchwood address, patrol officers were alerted by another resident who observed five individuals running through her yard.
Long Hill Police secured the area and called in additional police resources shortly before alerting residents through the reverse 911 and RAVE Alert systems regarding the five suspects on foot.
Officials say officers soon discovered then pursued the five individuals in the woods along Midvale Avenue where they apprehended two suspects immediately.
According to officials, residents were again alerted regarding the arrests and three suspects who remained at-large.
Police continued their search of the Millington area and ultimately discovered the additional three suspects where a further investigation revealed the suspects entered multiple vehicles in an attempt to steal the cars and flee the scene.
Police say the 6th suspect was taken into custody after suspects contacted them to pick them up before they were apprehended.
Authorities say five juveniles and **Mr. Darwin Moncion, 19 years of from Jersey City**, were ultimately taken into custody.
Pending charges include Receiving stolen property, Conspiracy to receive stolen property, Burglary, Conspiracy to commit burglary, Obstruction, and Eluding/Resisting arrest.
Long Hill Township Police are working with a nearby jurisdiction where the defendants allegedly committed crimes before their discovery and arrest in Millington.
