UPDATE: Firefighter Injured in Multi-Alarm Newark North Ward House Fire

Newark Public Safety Officials are  reporting that members of the Newark Fire Division extinguished a 3-alarm fire at 390 Lincoln Avenue today. 

Firefighters responded to the 2-1/2 story wood frame building just after 11:15 a.m. Fire

Officials said a third alarm was called at 11:26 a.m., with the fire extending to two adjacent residences at 392 and 394 Lincoln Avenue.

One woman, a resident of 392 Lincoln Avenue, has been transported to Clara Maass Medical Center for treatment of smoke inhalation.

A male firefighter, who suffered burns to his face, was transported to St. Barnabas Medical Center for treatment. No other injuries have been reported, but 21 adults and eight children have been relocated.

The fire was considered under control at 12:40 p.m.

The cause and origin of this fire is under investigation by the Newark Department of Public Safety’s Arson Unit.
