UPDATE: Fatal Head-On Crash Under Investigation in Woodbridge

Authorities in Middlesex County are investigating a deadly late-night collision that claimed the life of a young Colonia woman and left two others seriously injured.

According to a statement released by Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office and the Woodbridge Police Department, the crash occurred on February 18, 2026, at approximately 10:36 p.m. on Route 27 North near Deepa Auto Repair in Woodbridge Township.

 

Police responding to reports of a collision discovered that a 2013 Hyundai Tucson and a 2025 Nissan Altima had collided head-on.

 

Authorities said the Hyundai was being operated by a 28-year-old man from Iselin, while the Nissan was driven by a 22-year-old woman from Colonia. 

The Altima’s front-seat passenger, a 21-year-old woman also from Colonia, and the driver of the Hyundai both sustained serious injuries and were transported to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital for treatment. 

The Hyundai driver remains in critical condition.

 

The driver of the Nissan Altima was transported to JFK University Medical Center, where she was later pronounced deceased.
 

Prosecutor Linda Estremera and Woodbridge Police Director Joseph Nisky confirmed that the investigation remains active and ongoing.
