Newark --- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor's Office Homicide /Major Crimes Task Force, which includes Newark Police detectives, is investigating three homicides.
According to police, on Friday, October 27, at approximately 11:28 p.m., there was a double shooting that resulted in one fatality.
Two men were shot and seriously injured in the vicinity of 57 Voorhees Street.
Authorities identified the fatal shooting victim as Mr. Robert G. Morgan, 30, of East Orange and said a 22-year-old male from East Orange suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound.
Police said on Saturday, October 28th, two other men were shot in unrelated fatal incidents.
At approximately 8:48 p.m. Mr. Artemio Arce, 33, (Photo with hat) of Newark suffered a fatal gunshot wound in the vicinity of 34 North 12th Street.
In the remaining incident, Mr. Emary Holland, 33, of Newark (Photo above) was shot and killed in the vicinity of 17th Street and 15th Avenue authorities said.
The investigations into all three homicides are active and ongoing.
No arrests have been made.
