UPDATE: Elizabeth Eastwyck Saints’ Coach ID’d as Motorcyclist Killed in Crash

A 37-year-old Elizabeth man who lost control of his motorcycle on Routes 1 & 9 Sunday died from injuries he sustained as a result of the crash.

According to Elizabeth City Spokeswoman Ruby Contreras, the Elizabeth motorcyclist was heading northbound on Routes 1&9 at around 6:30 p.m, when he attempted to make a lane change and somehow lost control of the bike.

Spokeswoman Contreras said the motorcyclist then struck a curb and slammed into a telephone pole near Maple Avenue.

EMS rushed the motorcyclist - later identified by Contreras as **Mr. Kordal Hinton Jr.** - to Trinitas hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Spokeswoman Contreras asked that anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact Detective Kellem at (908) 558-2068.

Hinton Jr. was an active member of the community who mentored programs such as Sons of Someone Inc., Daughters of Someone Inc. and in addition coached Eastwyck Saints.
