Tragedy struck on a quiet Tuesday afternoon as Hillside police launched an investigation into a deadly crash that unfolded in the 1400 block of North Broad Street.

AdHillside Police officials said the incident occurred at approximately 3:18 p.m. and involved a motorcycle, leaving a 19-year-old man from Elizabeth killed.

According to Hillside Police, preliminary reports suggest that the driver of the motorcycle was traveling southbound along the 1400 block of North Broad Street when, for reasons yet to be determined, he appeared to lose control of the vehicle.

The sudden loss of control resulted in the driver being ejected from his motorcycle, leaving him vulnerable to the impact of the crash.

Officials said the scene turned even more harrowing as the motorcycle, now unoccupied, continued to slide southward on North Broad Street. Its path of travel led it to collide with a parked vehicle, generating a forceful impact that further intensified the unfolding tragedy.

The motorcycle eventually came to a halt in front of 1140 North Broad St.

Despite the prompt response of emergency personnel, the driver's injuries proved to be fatal, and he succumbed to the consequences of the crash.

AdThe Hillside Police Traffic Division has taken charge of the investigation into this heartbreaking incident.
