According to a statement released by police, at approximately 1:00 a.m., The Berkeley Township Police Department responded to Dover Road about a half mile south of Pinewald-Keswick Rd for a vehicle on fire in the woods.
Police say the Pinewald-Pioneer Fire Department also responded to assist.
A preliminary investigation showed that this crash involved one vehicle where this vehicle traveled north on Dover Road when it veered off to the shoulder and into the woods ultimately striking several trees.
Police say the vehicle, a 2019 Ford F-150, then overturned and caught fire. The male elderly victim was then ejected from the vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
This crash is still under investigation by Patrolman Michael Bulwinski and Patrolman Ryan Wahl of the Berkeley Township Police Departments Traffic Safety Unit.
