The Hudson County Regional Arson Task Force and Bayonne Fire Department are investigating that killed two people this morning in Bayonne.
According to authorities, the fire happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. at 3 Island View Court, where firefighters arrived and found heavy fire coming from the roof of a three-story multi-family building.
Crews were able to knock the fire down in under 30 minutes, but a search of one of the apartments indicated two severely injured victims.
Hudson County authorities confirmed that the elderly couple died a short time later.
The vaus eof the fire remain under investigation.
