Newark -- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and East Orange Public Safety Director Sheilah Coley announced today that the East Orange Police Department and the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a homicide.
Authorities say Mr. Basil Howard, 51, of East Orange was shot on May 5 in the vicinity of North Grove Street and Hoffman Boulevard in East Orange.
Yesterday at 5:22 a.m. he died from his injuries authorities said.
"At this point in the investigation, no arrests have been made".
The investigation active and ongoing.
