A fatal shooting that took place in Elizabeth over the weekend is under investigation, acting Union County Prosecutor Ann M. Luvera announced Tuesday.
According to authorities, on January 14th at approximately 4 a.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 500 block of Elizabeth Avenue for reports of shots fired.
Upon arrival, officers found 30-year-old Tyrone Osorio of East Brunswick, suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the preliminary investigation.
EMS transported Osorio to University Hospital in Newark for emergency surgery, but was pronounced dead there at approximately 4:45 p.m. the next day.
This matter remains under active joint investigation by the Union County Homicide Task Force, Elizabeth Police Department, and Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit.
