NJ State Police officials are investigating a crash that killed the driver of a car on highway in Newark on Monday night.
According to a statement released by NJ State Police, the crash occurred at 11:06 PM on the entrance ramp from Route US-1 south to I-78 E in Newark.
Police say a preliminary investigation indicates that the driver of a Mercedes GLE was negotiating the curve on the entrance ramp when they lost control, struck the concrete barrier, causing the driver to eject from the car.
Police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
”There were no other occupants in the Mercedes and no other vehicles involved in the crash” NJ State Police officials said.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
