UPDATE: Dozens of Citizen Complaints Result in Newark Police Arrest of 13 for Soliciting Prostitution; Maplewood, Irvington Men Arrested

Authoritites in Newark are reporting that members of the Newark Police Division’s Special Enforcement Division arrested 13 individuals, including seven from out of town, for prostitution in an operation last night.

Accoriding to a response to quality of life complaints in the area of Hawthorne Avenue and Birks Place, S.E.D. detectives conducted the operation, resulting in the arrest of the following individuals from out-of-town:

Mr. Junior Georges, 32, Mr. Jose Yunga Huerta, 33, Mr. Terrell Lockwood, 33, Mr. Dwayne Bruce, 26, Me. Franz Shury, 28, and Mr. Eddie Guillet, Jr., 38, all from Irvington.

Police also arrested Mr. Jameel Turner, 36, of Maplewood.

All were charged with Soliciting and Prostitution.

Police said thise arrested and charged with Soliciting and Prostitution from Newark are: Ms. Nicole Golden, 38, Ms. Latrice Spruill, 29, Mr. Raejean German, 19, Mr. Kevin Jones, 34, Mr. Will Jordan, 46, and Alpha Jallon, 26 (not pictured).

“Thanks to complaints by concerned citizens we removed 13 people accused of openly conducting criminal activities in their community,” Director Ambrose said.

“I also applaud the Special Enforcement Division for their diligence toward improving the quality of life of our residents.”

These charges are merely accusations.

Each suspect is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
