Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray and Irvington Police Director Tracy Bowers announced today that Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force and the Irvington Police Department are investigating the death of Rev. Ron Christian, the prominent pastor of Christian Love Baptist Church in Irvington.
Christian, 51, of Irvington was found dead by a family member in the church, which is located at 830 Lyons Avenue.
The preliminary investigation indicates there was no foul play. However, the cause and manner of death will be determined following autopsy.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
