UPDATE: Clifton Man Shot Dead in Early Morning Paterson Incident

A Clifton resident was fatally shot in Paterson during the early hours of Saturday morning, according to a statement released by the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office.

Authorities said the shooting occurred around 3:35 a.m. on May 17, 2025, near the intersection of 19th Avenue and East 42nd Street. Officers from the Paterson Police Department arrived at the scene and found a 55-year-old man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Emergency responders rushed the victim to Saint Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, where he was later pronounced dead.

As of now, the motive behind the shooting remains unclear, and the investigation is ongoing.
