Officials have confirmed that a child who was ejected from a minivan after it was struck by a stolen vehicle Friday afternoon, is in critical but stable condition.
Police responded to the area of Broad Street and Emerson Avenue around 3:23 p.m for a report of a crash.
Upon arrival, officers determined that the stolen vehicle slammed into a minivan occupied by seven people. According to police, three people were treated by EMS, two juveniles were transported to the University Hospital in Newark, while a child ejected from the vehicle was flown to an area hospital for treatment.
The occupants - one adult and five juveniles - inside the reportedly stolen vehicle are in custody.
