UPDATE: Body Recovered of Man That Fell into The Passaic River in Newark

Police recovered the body of a man that fell into the Passaic River on Monday evening in Newark.

Police were called to the Raymond Boulevard side of the Passaic River at around 5 p.m. yesterday on reports of a man who was struggling in the water.

Emergency responders arrived to find several witnesses who told them that the victim fell into the water and was swept away by the current.

Rescue and dive teams searched late into the evening for the man, and then ended their search at around 11 p.m.

Crews resumed searching the water today and located the man at around 3:45 p.m.

There is an investigation underway into the incident.

The identity of the man has not been released at this time.
