State Police are currently investigating a fatal crash that occurred early on Friday morning in Springfield.
According to state police officials, Troopers responded to a motor vehicle crash on State Highway 24 eastbound at milepost 10 in Springfield Township, Union County, at approximately 1:16 a.m.
Preliminary investigation reveals a Mazda 3 was traveling onto the Interstate 78 ramp at milepost 10 from State Highway 24 when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway and impacted the guardrail end.
According to state police, as a result of the crash, the driver of the Mazda 3, identified as Alexander Marrero, 30, of Bloomfield, was pronounced deceased on the scene.
