UPDATE: Bergen County Resident Killed in I-80 Crash in Morris County

NJ State Police are investigating the cause of a crash that killed a Bergen County resident Sunday. 

According to NJ Police Sgt. Philip Curry, the early morning collision occurred at 2:41 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-80 near mile marker.43.8 in Parsippany-Troy Hills.  

Sgt. Curry said a  preliminary investigation revealed that a Chevrolet Corvette was traveling north on I-287. 

According to Sgt. Curry, the  Corvette entered I-80 westbound via a ramp from I-287. 

In the area of milepost 43.8, the Corvette was struck by a Lexus SUV. 

Sgt. Curry said the driver of the Corvette, Mr.  Luis Ramirez-Cano, 29, of Bogota, was ejected and sustained fatal injuries. 

The passenger of the Corvette was transported to Morristown Medical Center with unknown injuries. 

Sgt. Curry said the driver of the Lexus sustained minor injuries but refused medical attention. 

The passenger of the Lexus sustained minor non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Saint Clare's Denville.  

The crash remains under investigation
