NEWARK --- Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that the two individuals fatally shot yesterday by Newark Police officers have been identified.
Authorities said **Najier Salaam, 18, (photo in dark shirt) of Newark** and **George Richards-Meyers, 18, also of Newark** died during a shooting incident that involved Newark Police Officers.
Under Attorney General guidelines, the names are not released until notifcation of the next of kin authorities said.
Authorities said the investigation is continuing.
