UPDATE: Authorities Release Cause of Newfield House Explosion

The Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office, the county Fire Marshal, and the county Medical Examiner’s Office announce that the house explosion that killed a couple in Newfield was caused by natural gas.

According to authorities, fire marshal have determined that natural gas caused the explosion but because of the numerous possible sources of ignition, the origin has been listed as undetermined.

 

Officials say the cause of death of Carole Paladino, 72, was found by the Medical Examiner to be multiple blunt trauma and the manner of death was determined to be accidental. The cause of death of John Paladino, 73, was found to be blast and thermal injuries and the manner of death was reported to be accidental.

 

The Prosecutor’s Office has found no evidence of foul play in the explosion and fire that destroyed the house at 329 Oakwood Drive.
