Acting Essex County Prosecutor Carolyn A. Murray announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force are investigating a fatal shooting.
According to authorities, on Friday afternoon at around noon, Dino Bermudez, 33, of Newark was shot in his leg in the 300 block of Myrtle Avenue.
EMS transported Bermudez to University Hospital and died from his injuries Sunday at approximately 5:15 a.m.
At this time, no arrests have been made authorities said.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
