Newark – Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal stabbing of Severino Ramos, 62, of Newark.
According to authorities, Ramos suffered a stab injury in the 100 block of Smith Street on Wednesday, Feb. 7.
Medics pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after 8 p.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing.
