UPDATE: Authorities Identify Hudson County Men Found Dead in Weehawken

Authorities identified two men who were found dead in Weehawkin early this morning

According to authorities, at approximately 8:00 a.m, the Hoboken and Weehawken Police Departments responded to a 911 call regarding a body floating in Weehawken Cove in Hoboken.

At approximately 9:00 a.m. the Weehawken Police Department indicated that a second body was also seen in Weehawken Cove a short distance from the first body.

Both of the bodies appeared to be male and lifeless.

They were removed from the water, secured and tentatively identified by the Hoboken Fire Department.

Detectives of the Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Squad subsequently confirmed their identities as Ali Harb, age 41, of West New York, and Juan Bustamonte, age 35, of Union City.

They were both pronounced dead at approximately 10:45 a.m.

At this stage of the investigation, the two deaths do not appear to be suspicious and there should be no concern to the public authorities said.

The exact cause and manner of death of both Harb and Bustamonte are still pending the findings of the Medical Examiner.

The Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Hoboken Police Department.
