UPDATE: Authorities ID Paterson Man Struck, Killed by Gunfire

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald have released the identity of the 26-year-old man shot and killed last night.

According to authorities, at approximately 10:34 p.m. on June 27th, police responded to the area of Fair Street and Auburn Street in response to a report of shots fired.

Upon their arrival officers located a 26 year-old male victim, later identified as Asmar Williams, from Paterson, lying in the intersection with apparent gunshot wounds.

Officials say Williams was transported to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 11:14 p.m.

The investigation remains active and ongoing, and more information will be released once it becomes available.
