UPDATE: Arrest Made in New Brunswick Fatal Shooting

Middlesex County Prosecutor Andrew C. Carey and Director Anthony A. Caputo of the New Brunswick Police Department said that one man was arrested today, and another is sought in the fatal shooting of a New Brunswick man last night.

Eric “E-Z” Inman, 25, of New Brunswick was arrested and charged with aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. He is being held at the Middlesex County Adult Corrections Center in North Brunswick pending his first court appearance.

Christopher “C-Dub” Thompson, 26, of Edison, is charged with murder, attempted murder, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Thompson remains at large.

On October 26, 2018, at approximately 8:00 pm, New Brunswick Police were alerted to a shooting in the area of Robeson Village. Police arrived to find Larenz Ogarro, 23, of New Brunswick, lying in a parking lot on Van Dyke Avenue, the apparent victim of multiple gunshot wounds.

Ogarro was taken to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital where he was pronounced dead from his injuries. The Middlesex County Medical Examiner determined that the cause of death was multiple gunshot wounds – manner of death was homicide.

An investigation by Detective Kenneth Abode of the New Brunswick Police Department and Detective David Abromaitis of the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office determined that Thompson and Inman were involved in the fatal shooting of Ogarro, and the assault of a 19-year-old man from North Brunswick.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office is still working in conjunction with the New Brunswick Police Department to locate and apprehend the other suspect.

As is the case with all criminal defendants, the charges against Inman and Thompson are merely accusations and they are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
