UPDATE: Armed Men Rob Victim at Downtown Newark Bank Then Steals Car; Uber Driver Robbed in the Ironbound Section

Newark

Police have provided some information into several brazen and disturbing armed robberies that occurred in Newark during the overnight hours.

According to authorities, police are on the search for several armed men who are responsible for robberies and committed carjackings where victims were caught off guard during the incidents.

In one of the city's first of multiple overnight robberies, police were called to the Wells Fargo Bank, located at 1040 Broad Street, to take a report of an armed robbery that happened at that location.

When police officers arrived, they were informed by the victim that while they withdrew money from the ATM, two black males, armed with guns, approached and immediately took all the cash that was removed during the transaction.

According to reports, police are looking for a silver Dodge Ram that the suspects sped away from the scene in after committing the robbery.

The victim apparently left the vehicle running while going to use the ATM while the suspects observed this; then took the car as well. Police say the stolen vehicle is a blue 2013 Honda Accord with license plate numbers "E37-DNU".

Shortly after the Broad Street robbery, police say suspects fitting the same description struck -again- in the vicinity of New York and Railroad avenues where they pointed guns at an Uber driver and took personal possessions.

Maplewood Police believe that the suspects are also responsible for an armed robbery in their township that occurred during the overnight hours.

There were no physical injuries reported in any of the incidents.
