There is a search underway for suspects wanted for fire shots on the Newark-Irvington Township Border afternoon.
According to a statement released by police, Irvington Township Police were dispatched to 15th Avenue and Oak Place to investigate reports of shots fired around 5:15 p.m.
Police say upon arrival, they learned that suspects occupying two vehicles fired multiple rounds in the area of 15th Avenue and South 18th Street.
According to officials, a Newark Police unit observed that incident and followed the vehicles into Irvington when a second shooting incident occurred involving the same two cars.
Police say the suspects were occupying a Nissan Maxima and a Nissan Murano during the incident.
Suspects in both vehicles were able to speed away from police and remain at-large. One person suffered a non-fatal gunshot wound on the Newark side of the border.
