UPDATE: Allentown Man Struck by Two Tractor-Trailers, Car While on NJ Turnpike in Burlington County

New Jersey State Police officials have confirmed a fatal pedestrian strike that killed a young man on a NJ highway early Tuesday morning in Burlington County.

According to a statement released by police, the 22-year-old man from Allentown, NJ was killed just after midnight on the northbound Turnpike in Mansfield.

State police identified the victim as Mr. Jahmir Scott who was pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.

According to a preliminary investigation, police say Scott experienced car trouble and was trying to cross the outer (truck) lanes north of exit 6 for the PA Turnpike when two tractor-trailers and a car struck him.

Police remind drivers never to attempt to cross a busy interstate or highway, by any means.

The incident remains under investigation.
