UPDATE: 46-Year-Old Man Killed in NJ Shooting

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred in the area of Rutherford Avenue and Prospect Street last night.

According to Mercer County Prosecutor Angelo J. Onofr, at approximately 8:21 pm, Trenton Police received a ShotSpotter activation for six rounds in the area of 328 Rutherford Avenue.

Prosecutor Onofri said Trenton Police responded to the area and located a male in an area behind 332 and 330 Rutherford Avenue suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.

He was transported to the hospital but was later pronounced dead. The victim has been identified as Mr. Daniel Garvin, 46, of Trenton.

The investigation is ongoing and no arrests have been made.
