UPDATE: 34-Year-Old Man Shot Dead in Front of Jersey City Firehouse

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the shooting death of a 34-year-old male that occurred on Saturday, March 4. 

According to Prosecutor Suarez, at approximately 10:16 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of 2 Bergen Avenue.

Responding Officers located a male victim – later identified as Mr. Tyreef Robinson, 34, of Jersey City – with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body.

Prosecutor Suarez said Robinson was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:27 p.m. The Cause and Manner of Death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.

No arrests have been made at this time.
