UPDATE: 32-Year-Old Jersey City Man Killed in Shooting Incident; Vehicle Recovered in Newark

Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are investigating the death of a 32-year-old Jersey City man who was fatally shot on Sunday afternoon near Crescent and Belmont Avenues in Jersey City.

According to Prosecutor Suarez, on Sunday at approximately 12:28 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to a shooting in the area of 32 Belmont Avenue.

Responding officers found a male – later identified as Mr. Rasheen Bostick – with an apparent gunshot wound to his torso.

Emergency Medical Services transported him to Jersey City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 12:55 p.m.

The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this case.

The vehicle that the suspect fled the scene in was recovered in Newark's North Ward. 

No arrests have been made at this time.
