Essex County officials that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating the fatal shooting of Donnell Gillespie 31, of Newark.
Police said on Wednesday at noon, Newark Police discovered Gillespie on the 1000 block of Lyons Avenue, Newark, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 12:18 p.m.
The investigation is active and ongoing. No arrests have been made.
