The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating a shooting that left a man dead in Newark's South Ward last night.
According to authorities, the incident happened at approximately 11:30 p.m. sending police to the scene after receiving reports of multiple shots fired in the vicinity of 57 Voorhees.
Upon arrival, officers found two males shot with one of the victims suffering fatal injuries at that location.
Authorities identified the fatal shooting victim as **Mr. Robert G. Morgan, 30, of Newark**.
A 22-year-old male is hospitalized in stable condition after suffering a gunshot wound authorities said.
The motive for the shooting remains under investigation.
