UPDATE: 27-Year-Old NJ Motorcyclist Killed in I-80 Crash in Paterson

NJ State Police officials are investigating the cause of a crash that killed a motorcyclist in Passaic County Monday night. 

The crash occurred at around 9:48 pm in the westbound lanes of I-80 near mile marker 58.7 in Paterson. 

State Police Sergeant Philip Curry said a preliminary investigation revealed that a Suzuki motorcycle operated by Mr. Justin Moyett, 27, of Little Falls, was traveling west on I-80 when in the area of milepost 58.7, the Suzuki overturned and ejected the driver.

The driver was then struck by a Mercedes-Benz C230.

As a result of this crash, the driver of the Suzuki sustained fatal injuries. 

The driver of the Mercedes did not report any injuries. 

Trooper closed the left three lanes of I-80 for approximately 3 hours, resulting in significant traffic congestion. 

The crash remains under investigation.
