Acting Essex County Prosecutor Robert D. Laurino and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes Newark Police detectives, is investigating the fatal shooting of **Mr. Rashon S. Brown, 27,** currently of Paterson but formerly of East Orange.
Authorities said on Monday, Aug, 7th, at approximately 1 a.m., the victim was dropped off at Newark Beth Israel Hospital.
Police said it is unclear where the shooting occurred at this time.
Medics pronounced Mr. Brown dead at 1:34 am authorities said.
"At the time of his arrival to the hospital, his identity was unknown but was later identified, officials said.
