UPDATE: 27-Year-Old Man Shot Dead in Paterson

Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announced that at approximately 11:38 p.m., police responded to the area of the intersection of East 28th Street and 10th Avenue in the City of Paterson in response to a call of shots fired.

Officials say upon officers arrival, they located Akean Williams, 27, from Paterson, seated in his Nissan Altima which was parked on the side of the road near 455 10th Avenue.

Police say Mr. Williams had obvious gunshot wounds and pronounced dead a short time later.

The investigation remains active and ongoing.
