Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, alongside Newark Public Safety Director Fritz Fragé, divulged the ongoing investigation into the tragic demise of 20-year-old Nasir Dudley.
The violent encounter happens on January 24, around 6:53 p.m., when Newark police rushed to Irvine Turner Boulevard responding to a shooting report.
Upon arrival, Dudley was discovered struck by multiple gunshots and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly after.
As the investigation by the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force intensifies, the authorities have yet to apprehend any suspects.
In a plea for community support, officials urge anyone with information to contact the confidential tips line.
