UPDATE: 19-Year-Old Motorcyclist Killed in Franklin Township Crash

Somerset County Officials announced an ongoing investigation into a fatal motor vehicle crash.

According to the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office, on July 20, at 8:59 p.m., the Franklin Township Police Department received a 9-1-1 call reporting a motor vehicle crash involving a motorcycle and another vehicle on Easton Avenue near Oakland Avenue.  

Police Officers, Firefighters, and EMS Personnel responded to the scene. Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital BLS and paramedics treated and transported the victim, 19-year-old Franklin Township resident Nelisson Delarosa-Peralta, to RWJUH.

Officials said due to the extent of the injuries sustained, the victim was pronounced deceased at 9:36 p.m.  

The factors that contributed to the crash are currently under investigation by the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office Collision Analysis Reconstruction Team and the Franklin Township Police Department’s Traffic Safety Bureau.

 The initial investigation revealed that the male motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Easton Avenue when he crashed into a Toyota Camry that was making a left onto Easton Avenue.
