Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose announced today that the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide/Major Crimes Task Force, which includes detectives from the Newark Police Department, is investigating a fatal shooting.
Officials say, on Thursday, Oct. 8, Mr. Lester Ingram, 18, of Kingston, Pa., was fatally shot in the area of 17-19 Vine Street in Newark at approximately 3:05 p.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene at 3:30 pm. officials said.
No arrests have been made.
