Trenton

The Mercer County Homicide Task Force and the Trenton Police Department are investigating a shooting that occurred late Monday night.

Officials say, Trenton police received several calls for a shooting in progress just before 11:30 p.m.

Patrol units responded to the first block of Walnut Avenue and discovered a male victim unresponsive with multiple gunshot wounds to the head, shoulder and forearm.

Officials say the victim was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim has been identified as Unique Anderson, 18, of Trenton. Five additional gunshot victims were identified and arrived at area hospitals with gunshot-related injuries.

Those victims include: a 22-year-old male from Trenton, a 20-year-old male from Edgewater Park, a 20-year-old female from Trenton, a 19-year-old male from Trenton, and a 18-year-old male from Hamilton officials said.

While police continue to investigate a motive for the shooting, there is no information at this time that suggests it is related to Saturday morning’s shooting on Brunswick Avenue.

The investigation is ongoing.
