Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes and Paterson Police Chief Troy Oswald announce that on Thursday at approximately 7:02 p.m., police officers responded to 485 East 19th Street in the City of Paterson in response to a report of shooting.
Upon their arrival, the officers discovered one 16-year-old male victim with an apparent gunshot wound lying on the ground in a common area of the apartment building.
Police say the victim was pronounced deceased at the scene.
This investigation is active and ongoing.
