Police in Newark are reporting an update on the status of a 2-year-old who was found unattended in Newark’s West Ward today.
Officials say the girl was reconnected with her mother at University Hospital this evening and currently is in good health.
According to police, shortly before 8 a.m., a citizen in the 200-block of Stuyvesant Avenue reported that a child was found.
Police say the girl was wearing a dress, diaper and no shoes.
This incident remains under investigation and officials from The State Child Services Department were notified.
