There were no injuries reported for an airport incident that had a plane rupture several tires during a landing at Newark International Airport this afternoon in Newark.
According to preliminary reports from Port Authority officials, during the landing of
United Airline Boeing 777-22 plane number 961, the aircraft popped several tires causing about 220 passengers and crew to safely exit the plane on the taxiway.
Officials said the plane was returning from Frankfurt Germany and no one on the aircraft suffered any injuries in the 1:48 p.m. incident.
The investigation remains active and ongoing.
