A 35-year-old Union man was killed Saturday morning after the dump truck he was driving crashed and overturned on a highway ramp in Middlesex County, according to the New Jersey State Police.

Troopers were dispatched at approximately 7:13 a.m. to a motor vehicle crash on the northbound ramp from State Highway 440 to U.S. Route 9 South in Woodbridge Township.
A preliminary investigation determined that the Mack dump truck was traveling northbound on the ramp when it veered off the roadway to the left near milepost 1.8, struck a parked trailer, and overturned.
The driver suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. His identity has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
