Union, Kearny Men Among 11 Arrested in Newark Prostitution Sting

Newark

Newark Public Safety Director Anthony Ambrose announced the arrest of 11 men made during last night’s “john” operation. Director Ambrose said 7 of the men arrested were from out of town with one being from the Bronx.

According to authorities, last night’s prostitution detail was conducted in the northward section of the city in response to citizen complaints that cars were cruising the neighborhood until the "wee hours" of the morning soliciting sex from both residents and the prostitutes that frequent the area.

"Many residents said it particularly disturbing when your wife, daughter or sister is walking in the neighborhood and propositioned the neighborhood by men cruising the streets looking for sex Director Ambrose said.

These type activities left unaddressed have a negative impact not only on the quality of life for those that live in the neighborhoods, but also casts a negative light on the entire city. “I won’t tolerate any behavior that denigrates the quality of life in our city or needlessly damages the city’s image.
