Union City Man Charged with Explicit Crimes Involving Juvenile

Authorities in Hudson County announced that on Friday, June 20, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a Union City man for explicit crimes involving a female juvenile.

Francisco Ruiz, 66, is charged with Explicit Contact, a crime of the second degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a crime of the first degree; Endangering the Welfare of a Child, a crime of the second degree; Terroristic Threats, a crime of the third degree; and Criminal Restraint, a crime of the third degree, HCPO authorities said. 

According to Hudson County officials, he was arrested at a residence on Avenue C in Bayonne and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

The crimes occurred at the defendant’s Union City apartment in May 2025, Hudson County officials say. 

HCPO officials said the defendant threatened to harm the 10-year-old victim if she reported the crimes.

The two are known as family acquaintances, Hudson County officials stated.
